Parc national du Mont-Orford is situated in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada, covering a varied terrain of forested mountains, including the prominent Mont Orford summit, which rises to 853 meters (2,799 feet). The park spans a mosaic of ecosystems comprising hardwood and coniferous forests, wetlands, and lakes, fostering rich biodiversity. Established in 1938, the park serves as one of Quebec’s premier protected areas, offering visitors a wide range of outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, alpine skiing, and canoeing. The park’s trail system exceeds 80 kilometers, connecting scenic viewpoints, including the Mont Orford summit, and tranquil lakeshores like Lake Stukely and Lake Fraser. Wildlife enthusiasts may spot species including white-tailed deer, black bear, beavers, and a variety of bird species. The terrain is also well known for its excellent granite cliffs that attract rock climbers. In winter, the park transforms into a popular destination for downhill skiing and cross-country skiing, with well-maintained ski facilities operated within its bounds.
